Supplied Artwork Guidelines
ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS
To achieve the best possible result, we recommend supplying your artwork in one of the following formats:Purchase Orders
Preferred formats
AI — Adobe Illustrator source files
EPS — Encapsulated PostScript vector files
PDF — High-quality, print-ready PDF files
Other formats we may accept
PSD — Adobe Photoshop
TIFF / TIF — High-resolution image files
PNG — High-quality raster images with transparency where required
JPG / JPEG — High-resolution images
Vector artwork is preferred for logos, lettering and graphics because it can be resized without losing quality. If you are unsure whether your file is suitable, send it through and our team can assess it before production.
PREPARING YOUR ARTWORK
Our in-house design and production team works with customers to ensure artwork is suitable for its intended application. Supplying correctly prepared files helps minimise production delays and achieve the best possible finish.
Before submitting your artwork, please check the following:
OUTLINE YOUR FONTS
Convert all fonts to outlines, curves or paths before supplying your final artwork. This prevents text from changing appearance or being substituted when opened on another computer.
USE HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGES
Low-resolution images can appear blurry, jagged or pixelated when enlarged for printing. Supply images at an appropriate resolution for the final output size. As a general guide, 150–300 DPI at final size is recommended for many print applications, depending on the product and viewing distance.
EMBED OR INCLUDE ALL IMAGES
If your artwork contains placed images or linked graphics, ensure they are embedded in the file or supplied separately. Missing linked images may appear blank or be excluded from the final artwork.
CHECK YOUR ARTWORK SIZE
Supply artwork at the intended finished size wherever practical. If the file is supplied at a reduced scale, clearly indicate the required finished dimensions.
CHECK COLOURS
CMYK artwork is generally preferred for printed graphics. If a specific brand colour is important, provide the relevant Pantone reference or a physical colour sample. Colours may vary between screens, materials, inks and printing processes.
COMMON ARTWORK PROBLEMS TO AVOID
Fonts not outlined
If fonts are not outlined and the required font is unavailable, text may change or display incorrectly when the file is opened on another computer.
Solution: Convert fonts to outlines, curves or paths before sending your final artwork.
Low-resolution images
Images that look clear on a phone or computer screen may not have enough resolution for large-format printing. Enlarging small images can produce blurry edges and visible pixelation.
Solution: Supply high-quality original images at an appropriate resolution for the finished product. Avoid screenshots and images downloaded from websites where possible.
Missing or linked images
Artwork containing externally linked images may open without those images if the original files have not been supplied.
Solution: Embed all images in the artwork file or include the original linked files with your submission.
